Joseph Beuys, the man with the hat, known for his use of felt and the Fettecke, or corner of fat—thirty years after his death he appears as a visionary ahead of his time. In a fascinating film, Andres Veiel has succeeded in making him come alive once again, largely through archive materials. In cooperation with the documenta archiv, Stiftung 7000 Eichen, and documenta forum, Filmladen Kassel presents a preview of the much-discussed film on May 11, 2017 at 8 pm at Gloria Kino. documenta archiv is pleased to have contributed visual materials for the film.
Following the screening, director Andres Veiel shares insights about his work, in conversation with journalist Elke Bockhorst.
