The "Arbeitsgemeinschaft Archive in Nordhessen" organizes a week-long comprehensive program on the subject of "Democracy and Civil Rights". To mark the nationwide "Day of the Archives", eleven archives - including the documenta archiv - will  take part in providing information on exhibitions, films, presentations and guided tours.

In the process of democracy and civil rights, the archives are a "Fels in der Brandung" [solid as a rock]. They are documenting what took place, offer reliable sources of information and thus contribute directly to the protection of democracy and civil rights.

From March 1st, 2018 the documenta archiv will present the exhibition "Joseph Beuys and his Initiative for Direct Democracy" as part of its new series "In the documenta archiv".

On Friday, March 2nd, 2018, two guided tours will be offered at the documenta archiv at 2pm and 4pm.
