Art Library
The art library of the documenta archiv with its international scope on modernism and contemporary art is one of the most comprehensive scientific libraries within Germany.
The holdings in the library are focused on documenta exhibitions and its participating artists, exhibition catalogues, grey literature and periodicals.
We maintain publication exchange with a great number of national and international libraries, archives, museums and festivals. We also receive book donations and estates.
The library collection currently consists of 100,000 items and about 80 journal subscriptions.
Academic Papers
The library accepts university theses and qualification works into its collection that deal with the subject matter of documenta exhibitions. We accept works both printed and in digital format.
